Hey what’s up guys it’s Nick from Fit futures here with yet another answer to yet another question.

This week’s question pertains to those little bruises that just pop up, we don’t necessarily experience any pain and they may pop up while lifting, such has when we are performing deadlifts. You know the one when you go home you look down at your legs and think shit, where did that bruise come from. Well, the thing you need to know is that pain isn’t an input to the brain, it is rather an output from the brain because the brain perceives the body to be in danger, or it wants us to change our behaviors so that we can avoid pain.

We can experience bruises and tissue damage such as those from a dead lift without experiencing any pain because the body doesn’t perceive us to be in any real danger. Remember the brain is super complex, now this is really intriguing and it’s actually a lot of research coming out about this topic at the moment. Maybe I can talk more on it in the future.

Aanyway, I’ll be back next time with more answers to more questions.
