Hey what’s up guys, it’s Nick from Fit Futures here with yet another answer to yet another question.

This week’s question is ‘Nick what are your top five exercises for strength training’. Well first thing we need to look at what strength is. Strength is expressing force right so we need to be able to express force optimally in order to train it optimally. There’s tons of great exercises out there, unilateral stuff, variations on squats like goblet squats which I personally love, however as we go up in weight with kettlebells we can only go to a certain point. So barbell training is the best way to go, because that allows us to produce force optimally because we’re also bilateral in a lot of these movements.

So what are my top five; I love the barbell bench press, I love the barbell bending over row. For the legs; barbell back squat, you just can’t beat it. And then from there I love a deadlift as well as all all its variations. And the barbell hip thrust, as well is great.

Remember, bilateral allows us to go up in weight, which means we can express force optimally.

I’ll catch you guys next time for more.
