Hey, what’s up guys, it’s your main man Nick here with yet another answer to yet another question,
Today’s question is ‘Nick I get a little bit of pain in my shoulder when I perform pressing exercises. Is this something I can do to work around it?’. yeah, there is….Go and get your shoulder checked out go and see your physio just make sure there’s nothing untoward happening there. And maybe look to strengthen up your rotator cuff as well and throw some exercises in there.
If you’ve done those things and you’re still experiencing pain, then the workaround is just to narrow your grip a little bit. So instead of the wide grip for a bench press we’d adopt a close grip. If you’re working with dumbbells, that would be a dumbbell narrow grip press. What it does is shortens the movement arm at the shoulder, which basically just means less stress is placed on it. That should alleviate some of the symptoms you’re feeling while still allowing you to complete presses and work on the chest musculature, which pretty much everybody wants to achieve.
So if you like that one guys, click the link for more because there’s plenty where that came from and I’ll catch you next time.
