Hey guys it’s your main man Nick here with yet another answer to yet another question.
Today’s question is ‘should I stay away from isolation work because compound works better?’. Simply put, no not necessarily. Compound work is great, it can challenge us. It works multiple muscles because we’re performing movement of multiple joints. It’s not to say that isolation work isn’t great either. Let’s take for example the football player. He needs to kick that means he needs to extend that the knee forcefully. Knee extensive torque is important and the quadriceps help extend the knee. Yes, we can train it through compound work with a back squat but we can also do the same with a seated knee extension, which I propose you do. Over time that should be a nice complementary exercise to your squat and help build up the quadricep muscle group, which will help you pass up the laces, help you hoist the Garryowen and help you just shoot and do everything that you need to at that particular joint. So give it a try and see if overtime that improves.

I’ll see you next time.
